The DPDP Rules have phased commencement. Rules 3, 5–16, 22 and 23 are scheduled to start on 13 May 2027; November 2026 is not a blanket school-compliance deadline.

Keep an inventory of admissions records, photographs, attendance and contact details. Identify who can access each record and how a family can raise a question or request.
A communication channel is only one part of your records
A group chat or paper register needs supporting procedures: clear purposes, recorded permissions, access rules and a process for requests. Moving to an app does not complete that work automatically.
A verified login does not by itself establish verifiable parental consent under the law. Review your notices and verification process for each purpose, including any applicable educational exemption.

Parents join through their own accounts and school-approved enrolment. Keep the school's consent records and notices alongside that account relationship.
Controlled access
Use school roles and enrolled-family access for updates about children. Review who can publish and what each audience receives.
A route for data requests
Families can contact the school or Starkid about account and data deletion. Review required retention before confirming that a request is complete.
