How to request deletion of your personal data and Starkid account.

This page explains how users of the Starkid app, developed and operated by Universica Digital LLP, can request deletion of their account and associated personal data.

1. Your Right to Deletion

At Universica Digital LLP, we respect your right to control your personal data. Under the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), India's Digital Personal Data Protection (DPDP) Act, and Google Play data deletion requirements, users have the right to request deletion of their personal data and account at any time.

2. How to Request Deletion

You can request deletion of your Starkid account and associated personal data through either of the following methods:

In-App Deletion

Users can delete their account directly within the Starkid mobile application by navigating to:

My Profile → Delete Account

Follow the on-screen prompts to confirm your request.

Email Request

You may also submit a deletion request by sending an email to: starkid@universicadigital.com

Please include:

  • Subject line: “Account Deletion Request” or “Data Deletion Request”
  • The phone number or email address associated with your Starkid account

For security purposes, we may verify your identity before processing the request.

Users may request deletion even if they no longer have access to the Starkid app.

3. What Data Gets Deleted

When a verified deletion request is processed, the following information associated with the user account may be permanently removed from active systems:

Profile Information

  • Name
  • Phone number
  • Email address (if provided)
  • Profile photo

Account Credentials

  • Login credentials
  • Authentication settings

Media

  • Photos uploaded to the platform
  • Videos uploaded to the platform

Messages

  • Direct messages and communication history

Preferences

  • Notification settings
  • App preferences and personalization data

Child-Related Data

  • Child profiles associated with the user
  • Developmental records
  • Activity logs
  • Journal entries and photo portfolios

4. What Data May Be Retained

In certain situations, some information may be retained after a deletion request where required or permitted by law.

These may include:

Financial Records

Transaction and billing records may be retained for tax, accounting, and financial compliance requirements.

Legal Obligations

Information required for compliance with legal obligations, dispute resolution, or enforcement of agreements may be retained where applicable.

Anonymised Data

Aggregated or anonymised data that can no longer be linked to an individual user may be retained for analytics, research, and service improvement purposes.

5. Deletion Timeline

When a deletion request is submitted through the Starkid app or by email, the associated account will first be placed in a dormant state for 30 days.

During this period:

  • The account becomes inactive
  • The user cannot access the account
  • Data remains temporarily stored but inactive

This 30-day grace period allows the user to recover their account if the deletion request was made by mistake or if they change their mind.

If the account is not restored within the 30-day period, the deletion process will proceed and associated personal data will be permanently removed from our active systems.

In some cases, it may take up to 90 days for data to be fully removed from backup systems during routine system cleanup processes.

Users will receive confirmation once the deletion process has been completed.

6. Account Deletion Consequences

When an account deletion request is submitted, the account will first enter a 30-day temporary deactivation period.

During this time, users may contact support if they wish to cancel the deletion request and restore their account.

After the grace period expires, the deletion becomes permanent and irreversible.

Once deletion is finalized:

  • You will lose access to all Starkid features and services
  • Your account and associated personal data will be permanently removed from active systems
  • Deleted data cannot be recovered

If you wish to use Starkid again in the future, you will need to create a new account.

7. Verification

To protect user privacy and prevent unauthorized deletion requests, Universica Digital LLP may verify the identity of the requester before processing the deletion request.

Verification may include confirming the registered phone number, email address, or other account information associated with the Starkid account.
